Warren Seymour Classic 2016
In his first FIDE-rated tournament in nearly three years, Frank Gibson showed that he is still a major force in Bahamas chess. Gibson successfully held off every challenge that he faced in his comeback, including a sixth-round thriller against candidate master Nathan Smith.
Demonstrating razor-sharp play, Smith had Gibson on the ropes for much of the game until a series of inaccuracies gave Gibson the edge that he needed. From that point on, Gibson never looked back.
Gibson went on to finish the tournament with a perfect 6.0 points, two full points ahead of the field. Closing out tied for second place was the trio of Philip Hanna Jr., Clive Stuart, and CM Nathan Smith.
